In December and January, the holiday season brought back our regularly scheduled Thursday visits. It’s great to report that we’ve had plenty of our wonderful volunteer athletes involved. In fact, an average Thursday night attracts more than fifty athletes visiting more than fifty Mott patients! They’ve signed more than one hundred hats and created an unlimited amount of smiles and memories.

In the chilly months, most sports are forced indoors, unless that sport is played on ice. We take our deserving MFTH families to cheer on their favorite hockey players at every University of Michigan hockey game. After everyone is stuffed with popcorn and voices are hoarse from chanting, “C-Ya” at the opposing team, we hangout with the players and get some gear signed.

Even if it’s only for a few hours, it’s clear from the smiles that a little time out of the hospital is just what the doctor ordered!
